actually in 1990, I think GT was #1 and UVA was #2. I could be wrong. Scott Stadium caught fire the night before the game and then GT beat them the next day. Shawn Moore got hurt and they went on to lose their last 4 I think while GT won the national championship.

Yep, and in either 91 or 92 Clemson got them...I remember watching the GT-UVA game you're talking about tho..

Went back and looked and it was 91 UVA was #1 in one poll and GT # 1 in the other. I still got the shirt that said look hoos #1 in the nation. Never got a chance to wear it though haha and now its too small
